Summer Break Chaos

It’s nearly the end of the academic year and whether it’s your first or final year at university, this can be a challenging time, so you’re probably looking forward to a well-deserved break over the summer holidays. Whether you’re heading back to your parents’ in the UK, in another country or going travelling yourself, now is the time to think about what you are going to do with all of your belongings over the school holidays.

It’s amazing how quickly you start to accumulate stuff, even if you’re limited to one room in halls of residence. If you are moving home and considering taking all of your things with you, it seems a bit pointless if you’re returning in a few months. Think about the time and effort involved in packing up all of your stuff and hauling it back to the family home, only to return with our things in a few months’ time. 

Although moving your belongings may save you money, it may not be the most sensible or convenient option for students. Firstly, you will need to check whether or not you will need to move all of your belongings out of your room at the end of the year, before deciding if you need storage.  

Private tenants should check with the landlord to see if they are willing to let you leave your stuff in the property until you return. If this is not possible and you don’t have any suitable options to safely store your belongings, don’t worry, there is another way!
